By the looks of it, today was our last full academic day. We pretty much finished our 6+1 Week 5 except for a few students. They will have time here and there to complete them during our last week. Kids who were done our exercises throughout the day took advantage of any downtime to clean their desk a little more. Well done my young Padawans! (double clap!) Do not forget to bring your gear and bike tomorrow les enfants. C'est la grande aventure demain! This will be my first bike trip too so I am excited. Like everybody else, I am looking forward to the upcoming summer but I am getting a little sad as well as it will be hard to let such a solid bunch of kids go. As I say many times les enfants, you make me laugh in spite of myself and I can only thank you for that. I sure will miss you my young Padawans. This week, Amelia is our star, go see why she got the prize this week. That is all for now. Ton prof, signing out! Today, for all intent and purposes, it was a normal day. We finished our 6+1 Week Voice Week 4 and presented three waves of writing prompts about Gio's problem... We had some good laughs and some tough question piège... This week, we started using my Classroom Chats Sheets. There were many good questions which created some good discussions and even debates among certain kids. All done politely though and respectfully. Some questions were fun, other ones a bit tougher etc. As an example, one was... when, if ever, is it a good time to tell a lie? Ouhhhhh my good-e-nesssssssssss we had some unexpected answers for this one... You can see the kids asking for the floor. Once one student gave his/her opinion he/she had to choose someone with his/her hand up. We had good flow and interesting interactions. Well done les enfants (double clap!). A Grade 2 kid accosted me today in the corridor and asked me what bagel flies the best. I was puzzled so he said: -'The plain bagel'. I thought that was worth sharing! We have only a few forms overdue for the cycling trip les enfants. If you are not sure consult the Overdue section in the homework page. I had a fun day with you les enfants. See you tomorrow, Ton prof, signing out! Hola, how about some swimming in the rain! My best childhood memories were swimming in the Neigette River with my friends. We are fortunate that the pool was close by and that there was no lighting. We were not going to lose another trip. You can see the kids are pretty happy that we did go even though some were not too sure. The water was nice and warm but once out... a little colder:) We finished our Prezi presentations today. One more thing to cross off our list. We have the Dunmore Dugout this Friday and the weather is supposed to be nice. We really hope that no one is being affected by the rising waters. It is supposed to let up right as I am writing this piece so we all have our finger crossed. I have attached the communiqué that I received and as of now, schools will remain open tomorrow. Keep listening to the radio for updates. Keep bringing your forms in les amis we are doing well. If you are not done your writing prompt for W4-D4 that should be done for tomorrow. Otherwise you are looking good. Ton prof, signing out!
Well... yes sadly we had to decline... No field trip for us today either. Mother nature is not cooperating with us. However, tomorrow, there is no lightning on the forecast so kids we'll get the chance to swim in the rain, awesomenessssssssss! We can see some wet hair today. Kids insisted to go play in the rain for a bit... we did. I was not enjoying myself too much but the kids were so that is what is important. We had a busy day. We made another list on the board and did some work and had some fun sprinkled through our day. We started with our math quiz and got that out of the way. We presented a few more Prezis and worked on our 6+1 which is on pace to be done by next week. We also read a few French Haikus which was quite funny. Bring back the forms that need to be brought back les gros/moyen/petit/mini/super-mini amis! Make sure you are bringing your swimming gear to for tomorrow as well. Remember, you are to go to M. Marcotte's room fist thing in the morning to meet up with the other class before you take off for the pool. I will see you after recess my young Padawans. You make my day everyday les enfants, I had fun with you today. Ton prof, signing out! No word of a lie... only one Monday left. Unbelievable isn't it! Life goes just as fast too doesn't it... Gotta find time to stop and smell the roses right! We can see Karli here trying to make off with my motorbike. I turned around to tie my shoelaces but caught her just in time:) We finished and presented our haikus and had some fun with this today. Our math quiz is coming up too this week. Remember to bring enough layers of clothes for tomorrow les amis. Let us cross our fingers for some decent weather. Please visit our main page to see why Vega got the nod this week. You also received a three page package les enfants for your parents. Fill the appropriate forms and bring them back as soon as possible. Rock on gros, moyen, petit, mini et super-mini amis! We shall see you tomorrow. I had a fun day with you today. Ton prof, signing out! Every colleague told me not to bring a lunch due to the teacher appreciation luncheon. I was a bit skeptic because I like to eat and I do not like to go hungry... so I did not pack a lunch... and did I ever eat. Oh my good-e-nesssssssss there was a plethora of food. I am still munching on stuff as I am writing this!!! Thank you, thank you parents! There was so much good and tasty food. But you know what? For me, the #1 was the punch for some reason, just magnifique! I went for seconds a few times as all the teachers did:) and was very much plum full. If I were to stay here, I would say we need to have a couple events like this a year... Yes... Friday the 13th... kids reminded us about every 3 and a half minutes... we survived the day without major accidents... Is tonight the full moon too.... oh my good-e-nesssssssss! We made a list about what we had to do and sprinkled a few fun things in between. We finished our math booklet and our 6+1 week 3. We had a bit of free time so the kids could tie up loose ends and work on their father's day project if it was not finished. I am proud of you les enfants for your work ethics, you rock! We also played a few games. We played the all too elusive (kids still haven't figured this one out) telepathic game! Mia and I are on the same wave lenght, literally. Mega Mia (double clap!). Then, I invited the kids to go on a voyage SANTE. It is a French game and only Sharaya et Cassidy could come on my voyage. The other ones could not quite bring the right SANTE things... of course, after I shared the secret, nobody was impressed. But, as they say, you are always impressed by the trick but never with the secret... so don't ask! Finally, we played 'magie noire'. Kids smartened up and several figured it out as we went along. Play this one and the 2 other ones with your family les enfants during gatherings. Don't spill the beans too fast though, let them work... I had a fun week with you les enfants. Make a good one and we will see you Monday! Ton prof, signing out! |
